Why Pattaya is a top wreck diving destination

Just off the Gulf coast near Pattaya, a cluster of sunken ships waits below the surface, most within an hour's boat ride. The water stays warm, visibility holds up for the better part of the year, and you get a rare thing: several dive-worthy wrecks packed into one short stretch of coastline. The wreck sites you'll actually dive

A few shipwrecks along this coastline have earned their reputations, and no two dive the same way.

• HTMS Khram: a retired Royal Thai Navy vessel, sunk on purpose to seed an artificial reef. Coral now blankets the hull, and barracuda, grouper, and batfish move through in schools.
• Hardeep Wreck: a WWII-era cargo ship sitting around 25 meters down. A lot of divers call it the best wreck dive in the Gulf of Thailand, and the structure's still largely intact. Lionfish, moray eels, and nudibranchs have settled in.
• Bremen Wreck: quieter, less talked about, resting upright on the seabed. It offers some genuinely dramatic swim-throughs, with soft coral in bright color running along the deck.

Depths across the three sites run 18 to 30 meters. Certified Open Water divers can handle that range comfortably, while Advanced divers get a real reason to push deeper.
